Pouilly-Fuisse "Les Croux" - Domaine Guerrin & Fils

Area : 0,35 Hectare
Terroir : The Croux terroir is located on a very steep hillside, 38% slope, on the southwest slope of the Vergisson rock. The soil is poor and mainly composed of limestone with rocky aboulia, marl and veins of blue clay. The altitude is close to 400m.
The wine : After manual harvesting, the juice is extracted gently using a pneumatic press.
Vinification takes place in oak barrels that have been used for up to five years, and of which 15% are new oak. Ageing of 15 months allows the wines to improve slowly.
Tasting :
The nose is expressed with great complexity on notes of white fruit and citrus, with buttery, toasted, and finely woody notes.
On the palate, the wine perfectly combines the powerful and elegant, the minerality brings balance and a beautiful freshness.
Food and wine combinations :
It makes a wonderful accompaniment to fish, white meats and goat’s cheese, but can also be enjoyed on its own as an aperitif.
Drinking recommandations :
It is ready for drinking now, but can be kept for around 10 years.
